CONNECTING STUDENTS WITH THEIR FUTURE HEALTH CAREERS
ON TRACK OHSU!
Challenge: On Track OHSU! wanted an engaging takeaway piece for students from underrepresented minority backgrounds in middle and high schools. The goal was to inspire them to consider studying health sciences in college and join Oregon’s biomedical workforce. The program had great role models to highlight – young students from Latinx and American Indian backgrounds.
Solution: We interviewed students who studied health sciences, including nursing, midwifery, pharmacy and public health, creating new colorful two-page handouts focusing on each student. The pieces used different colors, typefaces and graphic elements to show their education and career pathways, as well as photos to visually tell their stories. It also included detailed information about their educational experiences, giving future students a window into what could be next for them.
