We took a day about a year ago to sit down and articulate our values. We worked hard, had fun and celebrated our alignment. We were grappling with using “care” in our values, realizing that lots of companies say they care. How could we say it differently?
Our idea: Form an acronym: CARE. It’s easy to remember, puts “care” front and center and spells out our values:
We focus on our values and have a weekly inspirational e-mail about them. We also talk about our values at a weekly staff meeting. By living our values, we show how much we care about our clients, our community and each other.
