Improving cancer diagnosis and treatment. Only available locally at Oregon Imaging Centers, PET/CT is helping health care providers better diagnose and treat disease, particularly cancer, in a way that wasn’t possible before now. For many patients, this means not having to travel elsewhere or schedule multiple tests to have this combined technology.
Making point-of-sale work. That’s exactly what Burley’s new Travoy posters do in bike shops across the country. They’re designed to intrigue customers and provide quick product information. Child […]

Inquisitive, bright-eyed students at McKay Creek Elementary School in Pendleton participated in a special ceremony on Thursday, Nov. 4 to celebrate completion of the new McKay Creek Bridge on U.S. 395, six miles south of Pendleton.

More women get mammograms

Komen Oregon and Oregon Imaging Centers share a belief that early detection saves lives and that mammograms, in combination with regular self-checks and clinical breast exams, […]

Eugene Splashes for Inaugural Komen Race for the Cure

Posted & filed under Advertising, Community, Life.

With some 7,000 participants, the inaugural Eugene Race for the Cure on Oct. 10 was the most successful first-time event in Susan G. Komen history. And almost everyone who registered showed up to walk or run on the first rain-drenched day of the season. Komen Oregon also made history as the first statewide affiliate to host two races.

As the Race’s marketing and communications partner, CAWOOD donated 1,000 hours of service as Komen Oregon’s creative consultants, developing striking images and concise […]

HTML5: What is it?

Posted & filed under Community, Video.

The biggest buzz in the Web developer community this past year has been HTML5.
This is the new specification for coding websites, which is supported in most modern browsers. While it offers some nifty new features, not all Web browsers support it (hello, Microsoft), and this can cause problems for developers wishing to use it. Here’s the scoop.
Among other things, HTML5 adds support for audio/video playback, and can be seen as a means to replace Adobe Flash and Microsoft Silverlight for […]

Commuting for the environment

Posted & filed under Community.

The Business Commute Challenge has inspired our whole team this week. All 14 of us committed to making plans, giving ourselves a few extra minutes, or sometimes braving the weather to bike, walk, bus or carpool, and we were all successful.
The biggest story may have been Kurt’s, as he and his wife went out and bought bikes over the weekend. The weather proved to be a formidable foe, making it really hard to ride every day like Kurt wanted, but […]

How to change things when change is hard

Posted & filed under Community, Life.

CAWOOD embraces change. We truly believe that small change adds up.
Maybe that’s why we like Chip Heath and Dan Heath’s new book Switch so much. Its subtitle gives more insight into what’s inside its cover: How to change things when change is hard.
Tell me you don’t know this axiom: “For things to change, somebody somewhere has to start acting differently.” Duh! Easy to say, but how do you make it happen? That’s what the Heaths talk about.
They suggest that […]

The Race for the Cure is coming to Eugene – 10.10.10, Autzen Stadium, Eugene
There’s quite a bit of pink popping up around CAWOOD lately – and it’s not just the blooming tulips kind of pink. Our team is lending its marketing skills to the inaugural 2010 Komen Eugene Race for the Cure. As part of our pro bono effort, we’re working hard to develop a unique identity for the Eugene Race and get the word out however we can.
In a […]
